I'm learning a trick or two with massage. I've learned how to make my hands warm with almost a thought, but I've been having some huge issue as of late. It's one of my class mates. How do you politely tell someone. "This is NOT the job for you" With out sounding like some heartless evil fiend?
Had a massage from said class mate yesterday for our practical. First issue? Her hands. Oh my god(s)! Freezing! I kid you not. When I had to perform the techniques to her, her core body was warm. Her neck? Clammy, Her hands and feet? I was massaging snow! Then after I finished my session, I had to lie on the table and she was to then work on me under instruction of the teacher. Most people would think. Hey, cutey with a booty and she's workin on me. Sweet. Nu-uh! I thought her hands were cold when I was working on them. They were practically ice when working on me!! It was NOT comfortable. Second issue, her touch. I know. I mentioned her hands were cold. That's just initial contact. The second part is personal warmth. Massage is in some aspects invasive. A therapist is seeing not just you, as in your normal skin. We see you with our hands and feel your muscles, so it's like a "second sight" and our hands are able to see under the skin where our eyes can't.
There was nothing inviting, welcoming or nurturing about her methods. I've worked on four other class mates and they've all told me at different times "Your touch is warm, light, and curious" I'm a brand new massage student. So when I touch you, my hands are mapping out the lay of your muscles. Her touch was cold, unsure and just...blah.
So cold hands, cold touch. On the upside, she wears a very light fragrance that's reminiscent of honeydew. That was her only redeeming quality. Oh one other thing. Energy transfer. When someone is in a bad mood, it can transfer. Her mood wasn't pleasant. She didn't want to be there, and she just wanted to go home. When she was done, my body was aching and I felt this heavy, ugly almost wet feeling on me, like I had just gotten dunked into sludge. I felt sick after her massage. Which leads me to believe, she needs to find another vocation. Cause unless you enjoy nausea, you wouldn't go back to her
